Justin Anderson LJFFF

Justin’s film making career was born out of his work as an artist.

Justin studied Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art, and won the John Ruskin Award
for Painting then went on to study at the Rijksakademie Van Veeldende Kunsten in
Amsterdam under scholarship.

He assisted acclaimed artist Bruce McLean on a number of shows whilst launching
his solo career as a video artist. He made a continuous action live TV broadcast for
Dutch Cable art channel Salto chewing gum and bouncing a basketball as a LIVE TV
performance.

Justin’s installations showed all over Europe including The Rathaus in Esslingen and the
Daniel Buchholz Gallery in Cologne. His art films have been shown at the Raindance
festival, Photographer’s Gallery in London and Basel in Berlin.

In 2007 Justin started making fashion films and his first film DRESS NUMBER ONE for
SHOWSTUDIO was then was selected for Diane Pernet’s ASVOFF festival and shown at
the Grand Palais in Paris, then with the festival travelling to Mexico City and Tokyo.

Justin’s TWIN PARALELL film for Jayne Pierson won Best styling at the Pompidou and
best Art Direction at A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival Barcelona featuring on
Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris . His award-winning fashion film CHORE for [lingerie
label] Damaris received 48,000 hits on You-Tube in 24 hours following its release on
Vogue.com. The film he made for Roksanda Ilincic A Poem for A was commissioned by
the Milan Vogue Italia exhibition and shown at the Palazzo Morando museum in Milan.

Justin was nominated for the Young Director Award in Cannes 2010 , he signed to Epoch
Films in spring 2011 and shot a commercial for i newspaper, a film for Armani as well as
Fleurs du Mal for UK brand Agent Provocateur.

FLEURS DU MAL was launched on the Purple magazine site in time for Halloween
and has had over 500 thousand views in the first two week and has now reached well
over 1 million. Was also voted best AP video beating Kylie in a poll in the UK’s tabloid
newspaper the Daily Mirror.

ARIANE for Giogio Armani featured actress Ariane Labed who won best actress at the
Venice Film festival.

In 2012 he shot GET RICHARD a film about and starring the fashion designer Richard
Nicoll for Vogue Italia in Los Angeles. Get RICHARD launched on Vogue Italia in June.
